Justice for Chris Resop
Last week, I saluted Pirates reliever Chris Resop for his 3 shutout innings, all after the 9th. He didn't get a win nor a save nor a hold for that, yet he helped keep the mighty Rockies off of the board long enough for the Bucs to win.Well today the ledger evened out.The Pirates looked like they were going to blow a game where they had a 4-0 lead before the Reds even came to bat. Dusty... you've got to do something about the closer role
I was listening to the Pirates broadcast of the Reds/Pirates game (forgive me, I don't know their names) and one of them said about Francisco Cordero "This does NOT look like a premier closer."He's right.All closers blow games from time to time. Do the Pirates have a chance to have a winning season in 2011?
God bless the Pirate fans who showed up at PNC Park last night to watch their Bucs deny Cy Young hopeful Adam Wainwright a win tonight... as the Pirates took advantage of gunshy third base coach Jose Oquendo who stopped the tying run from scoring off of Albert Pujols' bat.There will be individual game highlights like last night's win in the Pirates 2010 season, but let's not get too excited.Not
